Apple iPhone 11

iPhone 11 Camera

The iPhone 11 camera has some epic features that are going to take your selfie game to a new level. The dual camera now simultaneously utilises a 12-megapixel wide-angle and ultra-wide lens to give you 4x more in your shot. Now, the camera also offers a 120-degree field of view, which opens up your lens to bigger, wider photos. Colour comes to life in the new iPhone 11 camera as well: Tone mapping is used to highlight the best parts of the image based on the amount of light in the photo. Portrait Mode’s studio lighting option has also been improved so that you can take professional “studio looking” photos. Night Mode has taken a leap into the future in the iPhone 11 and comes on automatically when shooting in the dark. It reduces motion and blur so that your night shots are clearer than ever - even without the flash.

12MP Dual Camera

The 12-megapixel dual camera makes use of two incredible lens: an ultra-wide lens with ƒ/2.4 aperture and 120° field of view and a wide lens with ƒ/1.8 aperture. What does this all mean? The camera allows you to get more of life into your shot. More light, more scenery, more epic-ness.

12MP Selfie Camera

This is a feature we can all be excited about. The iPhone 11 has upgraded the front-facing camera from 7 megapixels to 12 megapixels! Your selfies are clearer, with more detail to show off your beautiful face.

Portrait Mode

This is where smartphones meet easy-to-use professional photography. When you shoot in Portrait Mode, your subject is made the focus, with the background blurred. This feature is also known as the “bokeh effect”.

Portrait Lighting

Portrait Mode has some game-changing lighting options that could turn even the most amateur photographer into Kevin Carter (an award-winning South African photographer). Go from natural light to studio to stage to contour to high-key monochromatic.

Tone Mapping

Tone Mapping is smart. The camera analyses a photo and picks up the areas with a lot of colour, texture and light and highlights these features to improve your photo.

Night Mode

Apple worked really hard on improving your night shots using the iPhone 11. Motion and blur are reduced so that your evening shots are of a better quality. The photos prove to be a large step-up from the previous model. In fact, the feature activates automatically when your camera detects low-light rooms or evening time.

Optical & Digital Zoom

The camera also gives you 2x optical zoom which works the same way as a zoom lens on a traditional or DSLR camera. Optical zoom is much better than digital zoom at taking photos from far away as it does not degrade image quality. The model also includes a 3x digital zoom.

Video

The iPhone 11 has new video editing features that weren’t around in previous models. You can shoot between 720p HD at 30 fps all the way up to 4K at 60 fps. That’s pretty amazing! The main benefit of 4K at 60 fps (frames per second)! video is you get much smoother, sharper and clearer video that’s just beautiful to look at.

Cinematic Stabilisation

Creating a “cinematic experience” rather than “taking a video” is a more justifiable way to describe the video features on the iPhone 11. Whether you’re in a moving car or running while filming, the new cinematic stabilisation feature makes your videos look like they were taken with a movie-level camera.

QuickTake

Apple also announced a new feature called QuickTake: If you’re in photo mode and would like to quickly shoot a video, simply hold down the shutter button in Photo and it’ll automatically begin recording a video.

Slofies

Another awesome feature for video? Slofies. Yes, that’s slow-motion selfies. You can now take videos in slow motion in the selfie mode! We bet Instagram models the world over are super excited about this one.

Red-Eye Correction

Isn’t it annoying when you take a beautiful photo with the flash, only to find everyone has beady red eyes? The won’t have that problem with the improved red-eye correction feature.
